Donne All'Improvvisa riunisce artisti, studiosi, registi, educatori e studenti per cinque giorni di laboratori, conferenze, presentazioni performative e discussioni nel cuore della Toscana.

L'incontro è dedicato all'esplorazione e alla celebrazione del ruolo delle donne—passate e presenti—nella tradizione della Commedia dell'Arte. Fin dal Rinascimento, questa forma teatrale ha offerto uno spazio alle prime generazioni di attrici professioniste in Europa. Oggi, l'evento si propone di rileggere quella storia attraverso uno sguardo contemporaneo e inclusivo.

Il convegno offrirà:

• Un percorso attraverso le figure femminili che hanno plasmato la Commedia, come Isabella Andreini e Vittoria Piisimi.

• Una riflessione su come i ruoli tradizionali possano essere reinventati, sovvertiti o arricchiti attraverso nuove prospettive di genere.

• Conversazioni sul corpo, sulla maschera, sul potere della risata sovversiva e della creatività.

• Uno spazio per presentazioni, laboratori, spettacoli e opere originali di artiste donne, trans e non-binarie.

Nato dal desiderio di condividere pratiche, studi e insegnamenti all'interno di una comunità di commedianti, questo è un incontro dedicato alla ricerca, al gioco teatrale e alla sperimentazione.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Donne All'Improvvisa brings together performers, scholars, directors, and educators, and students for five days of workshops, talks, performance-presentations, and open discussions in the heart of Tuscany.

The gathering is dedicated to exploring and celebrating the role of women—past and present—in the tradition of Commedia dell’Arte. Since the Renaissance, this theatrical form offered space to the first generations of professional actresses in Europe. Today, the event aims to revisit that history through a contemporary and inclusive lens.

The conference will offer:

• A journey through the female figures who shaped Commedia, such as Isabella Andreini and Vittoria Piisimi.

• A reflection on how traditional roles can be reinvented, subverted, or enriched through new gender perspectives.

• Conversations on the body, the mask, the power of subversive laughter and creativity.

• Space for presentations, performances, and original works by women, trans, and non-binary artists.

Born from a desire to share practices, studies, and teachings amongst a community of female commedianti, this is a gathering dedicated to research, theatrical play, and experimentation.
