Description
This two-week intensive course offers a comprehensive, practice-based exploration of puppetry as both a design discipline and a performance form. Building on foundational skills introduced in Sculpting Sound or functioning as a stand-alone experience, the program engages participants in the creation, manipulation, and performance of puppets. Students will gain hands-on experience in animating inanimate materials, examining the principles of movement, focus, and storytelling that underpin effective puppet theatre.
Through collaborative workshops, participants will investigate the intersection of physical performance, visual design, and narrative form. Emphasizing experimentation and creative collaboration, the course encourages students to expand their expressive capabilities and develop an integrated understanding of puppetry as a medium for theatrical and interdisciplinary performance.
