Vision

When I first walked into the Accademia dell’Arte 20 years ago, I had no idea what to expect. As a young artist, I was seeking the tools to express myself and tell the stories I felt compelled to share. It was a leap of faith into something entirely new and unknown. The experience was neither comfortable nor easy, but that is precisely what made it so transformative. The intensity of the schedule, the rigorous training, and the tight-knit community of this grassroots organization reshaped my understanding of the artistic process and redefined what an educational experience can truly be. I entered as a student and emerged as an artist.

 

I am excited to lead the Accademia dell’Arte as we build a global hub for experimental art, dance, and physical theatre. Rooted in Italy’s rich culture, our program offers an immersive experience that blends artistic exploration with cultural connection.

 

We are committed to process-driven, collaborative performance-making, where unique voices shape innovative work. Our transdisciplinary approach pushes the boundaries of choreography and performance, empowering artists to explore new ways of storytelling. By embodying curiosity and embracing experimentation, we inspire students to take ownership of their creative process and harness the transformative power of performance.

 

We are dedicated to fostering meaningful community and artistic connections—connections that go beyond the studio and stage. The AdA fosters the formation of  lasting bonds among artists, teachers, alumni, and the larger global artistic community. In a space where trust, curiosity, and open dialogue are encouraged, we aim to create a brave space where all participants can grow, experiment, and evolve.
