Screenwriting for Actors

This dynamic studio course is designed for actors who want to create original stories for the screen that feature themselves in leading roles. Using a story-centered, character-driven approach, the course explores narrative structure, standard screenplay format, visual storytelling, and dramatic elements.

Through daily writing exercises, collaborative workshops, and open lab sessions, students will develop their technical craft and creative voice while also examining successful actor-writers and multi-hyphenates in film and television. Over the two-week intensive, students will write two short screenplays featuring themselves in leading or co-leading roles, culminating in a reading of their final projects.
